Our Coop Runneth Over – Farm &  Wood Shop started several years ago when we decided it was time to move from the city and work for ourselves. We knew we loved nature, fresh air and creativity. As a sign maker by trade for over 20 years, it was time to branch off from the commercial side and do something more creative and more relaxed. On our property in Northern Michigan, we started a small wood shop where we create carved wood signs, custom furniture and more.

 

We also raise happy, healthy chickens and ducks who provide us with fresh eggs and plenty of entertainment on a daily basis. Additionally, we have a garlic farm where we hand plant hardneck purple stripe garlic each fall. Our garlic is grown naturally and we use no pesticides. The result is beautiful, rich tasting gourmet garlic bulbs that we sell for culinary use or seed garlic for those that want to grow their own.

 

We love the outdoors and our farm is growing each year. From apple, cherry and pear trees to concord grapes and fresh herbs, we believe in hard work and creating the life we’ve always wanted. By stepping out of the box and making counter-cultural decisions, we are moving away from the traditional 9-5 work day and getting our hands dirty!
